Barnes, 72, a retired security guard, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson. Burial: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Earl was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Norman, Okla., to Leroy and Inez Harris Barnes. Earl was a member of the Granbury Lodge #392 and the Granbury Shrine Club and served as a Mason for 40-plus years. He was also a member of Boulevard Baptist Church. Earl enjoyed fishing, camping, playing dominoes and family get-togethers. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hershel Barnes; and his mother, Ines Thomas. Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Helen Barnes of Burleson; son, Richard Barnes and wife, Bettye; daughters, Vickie Smith, Judy Freudiger and husband, Jake, and Connie Linch, all of Burleson; nine grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
