All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Thompson's Valley West FH--Goodyear AZ Brooks, Mina Jewell Mina Jewell Brooks, 95, of Avondale, AZ, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 5, 2007. Mina was born on February 12, 1921 in Lexington, OK. She and her husband, Cecil Perkins, moved to Avondale, AZ known at the time as Coldwater, in 1929. Preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Herbert Murphy and by brothers Wayne and Leo; Mina is survived by two sisters, Bessie Lempke and Jean Underwood as well as two brothers, Noel Murphy and Ray Murphy. She is the beloved mother of seven children, Dorothy Chisum of Avondale, AZ; Jess Perkins (Lynda) of Happy Jack, AZ; Edward Perkins (Chris) of Happy Jack, AZ; Barbara Miller of LaGrange, TX; Will Perkins (JoAnn) of Glendale, AZ; Edwin Butch Perkins (Charlotte) of Puyallup, WA; and Larry Brook (Marilyn) of Mesa, AZ. Other survivors include 23 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great and her lifelong friend Modine Phillips. A time of viewing and visitation with her family will be on Monday, April 9th from 5PM to 8PM at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel located at 926 S. Litchfield Rd. in Goodyear. Friends are invited to join the family for a service of celebration and remembrance of this precious on Tuesday April 10th 10AM at the same location. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Valley for their professional and personal care and support.
