All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Caldwell, Nancy Brugman Nancy Brugman Caldwell, age 62, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday evening, January 18, 2003, at her home, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Davenport, Iowa, on June 2, 1940, to the late Walter L. and Viola Meints Brugman. Nancy moved with her family to Malvern, in December of 1950, and she attended Malvern Junior and Senior High Schools. On October 9, 1959, she married Phillip Laughlin Caldwell, in Dallas, Texas. Nancy was Presbyterian. Residing a number of years in Oklahoma, including Ardmore and Norman, she and her husband moved to Kerrville, Texas in the early 1990's, and settled in Texarkana in December of 2000. From 1979 until 1985, she was director of the United Way of South Central Oklahoma, traveling extensively throughout the continental United States, and to places like Jamaica, Montreal, and Cozumel. She delivered Meals on Wheels in Oklahoma and Texas for many years. Nancy was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her number one priority. Survivors include her husband, Phillip of the home; two daughters, Kathy Pivarnik of Texarkana, and Kimberly Thomas and her husband, Bill of Seagrove Beach, Florida; a step-sister, Loncille Chambers of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Tim Wyatt of Kerrville, Texas, Sean Drown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, William and Sarah Thomas of Seagrove Beach, Florida; and one great grandson, Nicholas Joe Wyatt of Kerrville, Texas. Her funeral will be held at ten o'clock, Wednesday morning, in the Chapel of J.A. Funk Funeral Home of Malvern, with the Reverends Diane Brown and Roy P. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Ed "Pete" Robertson, Tim Wyatt, Sean Drown, William Thomas, Danny Martin, and Michael Funk. Memorials are requested to the Hospice of Texarkana Foundation.
