All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== :: Havenbrook Funeral Home Obituary Claudia Rae Christensen Claudia Rae Christensen, 84, of Ellenton, Florida, formerly of Norman, Oklahoma, died very peacefully, Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at her home in Ellenton, Florida. Her husband and three children were with her. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, November 6, and 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, November 7, at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 8, with Reverend John L. Roberts officiating, at Smith Cemetery in Moore, Oklahoma, located on NW 36th St, north of Indian Hills Road. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma. Mrs. Christensen was born March 30, 1921, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Jake and Beulah Polk. She graduated from Norman High School in 1939 after which she moved to California, where she met and married Alvin "Chris" Christensen in 1941. After the war, she moved with her husband to Minnesota where he attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota. They moved back to Norman in 1952 and made their home here until 2000, when, due to her ill health, they moved to Florida to be near their daughter. Mrs. Christensen was a homemaker, an artist and an avid gardener. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church, the Rose Society, Iris Society, Norman Garden Club and New Hope F.C.E. She won many awards for her floral arrangements. Mrs. Christensen was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, Russell, Wallace and Artie; and three sisters, Ollie, Esther and Verna. Survivors include her husband, Chris, of the home; two sons, Bruce Christensen, of Lewisville, TX and David Christensen and wife, Emily, of Plano, TX; daughter, Roseanne Sims, of Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren, Peter, Andrew, Matthew, Laura, Sara and Katie Christensen; brother, Johnny Polk of California; and many nieces and nephews.
