All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== June 28, 2003 Daniel Edward Davis Daniel Edward Davis, 69, of Norman died Thursday, June 26, 2003. Mr. Davis was born in New Marshfield, Ohio, Aug. 18, 1933, to Roy Thomas Davis and Mary Catherine Pidcock Davis. Mr. Davis spent 11 years in the Navy and served in the Korean War. Honorably discharged from the Navy in 1963, he became an auto body repairman. His hobbies included fishing, camping and exercising at the YMCA. He is survived by his wife, Sue of Norman; son, Ron and wife Mary, and their daughter, Amber, of Norman; son, Sheldon and wife, Susan, and their children Kyle and Haley of Plano, Texas. Mr. Davis was one of eight children Preceding him in death were half- brothers John Grubbs and Billy Grubbs and a sister Mary Mae Blanton. His parents and his father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Emma VanZant, preceded him in death. Survivors include Herman Grubbs, half-brother, and wife, Jenny, of Athens, Ohio; a brother, Lee Davis and wife Anita, of Alvarado, Texas; David Six, half-brother, and wife, Rose, from Quebec, Tenn.; and James Six, half- brother, and wife, Valerie, from Manteno, Ill. He is also survived by Jim and Donna Hamilton, brother and sister-in-law, of Norman; R.G. and Sandy VanZant, brother and sister-in-law, from Shawnee and Jerry and Ruby Harris, brother and sister-in-law, from Grand Junction, Colo. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church of Norman.
