All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Havenbrook FH--Norman OK Norman Transcript 05 Sep 2003 Kenneth Masters (Ken) Dahl Kenneth Masters "Ken" Dahl of Norman, died Sept. 3, after a long illness. He was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Minneota, Minn., to Ethel Masters Dahl and Franklin Dahl. He attended the University of Minnesota, and entered into the Army Air Force following Pearl Harbor. He received his pilot’s license, wings and commission in August 1942. He went overseas to North Africa, and flew 50 combat missions over Italy and Germany. After completing his mission, he served as a personal pilot to General Ira C. Eaker, commander of the 15th Air Force. He was a retired lieutenant colonel of the Oklahoma Air National Guard. Before going overseas, he married Doris Liddell of Shawnee on April 25, 1943. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Upon his return from overseas, he served as a flight instructor at the air bases in Rapid City, S.D., and Pyote, Texas. After his discharge in August 1945, he worked at Scrivner- Stevens for two years before becoming a home builder. He had a long career as a developer and home builder in Norman and Shawnee. Mr. Dahl was a member of Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church, the Grey Eagles and Trails Golf Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Dahl; mother, Ethel Dahl; his brother, Gordon Dahl and wife, Millie; and his sister, Muriel Jesse and husbands Paul Van Cleve and Bill Jesse. Survivors include his wife, Doris; son, Kenny Dahl and wife, Pamela, of Wewoka; brothers-in-law, Harold Liddell and wife, Jean Marie, of Norman, Dick Liddell and wife, Betty, of Norman, and Ken Sage and wife, Dorothy, of San Diego, Calif.; sister-in-law, Norman Jean Liddell; Judy Lancaster, who cared for him with so much love; and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved deeply. Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 8 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, under the direction of Kelly Rose. Memorial contributions may be made to Jacob’s Ladder, P.O.
