Zampieri of Granada Nicaragua giving some of the main particulars of Lem Dorrance on July 13. According to the letter Mr. Dorrance wa stricken with paralysis on July 5th at San Carlos, and on July 8 was carried by motor boat to the home of Mr. Zampieri at Granada 35 miles away, and was later removed to the sanitarium, where the best of medical aid and attention was given to him. He gradually grew worse however and on 13 July passed away. He was conscious up to the time of his death although he never spoke a word from the time he was stricken. the body was placed in a zinc csket and was placed in a fine mahogany coffin and buried in the cemetery at Granada. According to the laws of the country the body could not be shipped at that time,but in 4 or 5 years according to Mr. Zampieri. Lemuel Dorrance was the son of Henry B. and Mary E. Powell Dorrance.
