All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Foster, Carrel Lee Carrel Lee Foster, age 64, of Guthrie, OK, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Deaconess Hospital. Carrel was born May 2, 1938 in Bridgeport, TX to Carrel Lee and Mayme (Birge) Foster, Sr. Carrel graduated from Martha High School in 1956 and attended Oklahoma City University from 1956 to 1958. He worked at Schuler Fruit Co. from 1956 to 1965. He married Betty Hibbs on September 16, 1966 in Moore, OK. He began working at Fleming Foods in 1965 and retired in 1980. He moved to Guthrie in 1980 and started F & H Outlet, as well as other self employed interests until finally retiring in Sept. of 2001. Carrell Lee served on the Guthrie City Council from 1985 - 1987. He enjoyed sitting on a creek bank with a fishing pole, hunting with his son and the Lucy Seven Group, hanging out with his buddies at the coffee shop. He was a member of the Methodist Church. The family greatly appreciated the caregivers and the nursing staff on the 6th floor at Deaconess Hospital. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Betty Foster, Guthrie, OK; one son Steven Foster and wife Laurie; grandchildren, Tishina, Sierra and Michael Foster all of Yukon, OK; sisters, Myrtle Clingenpeel and husband Tom, Bethany, OK, Betty Jo Nelms and husband Charles, Chandler, OK, Francis Foster, Bethany, OK; brothers, Jack Foster, Bethany, OK, Billy Wayne Foster and wife Norma, Guthrie, OK; four nieces, five nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, his adopted four and many lifelong friends. Carrel was predeceased by his parents and infant twin daughters. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home Friday from 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM Services will be 11:00 A.M., Sat., August 24, 2002 at Davis Funeral Chapel, Guthrie, OK with the Rev. Carrol Gilliand officiating. Burial at the Seward Cemetery, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Guthrie. In lieu of flowers family suggest memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
