All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Eugene Register Guard 12 May 2004 Sid Grodsky ALVADORE - A memorial service will be held May 13 for Sid Grodsky of Alvadore, who died May 7 of heart and respiratory failure. He was 78. Grodsky was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Memphis, Tenn., to Lou and Anne Grodsky. He married Dorothy Stevens. She died in 1986. He married Hap Funk in Alta Loma, Calif., on Sept. 11, 1987. He lived in Claremont, Calif., before settling in this area 15 years ago. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Oklahoma State University and a business degree from the University of Arizona. He was a member of Sigma Chi. He served in the Army in Germany during World War II and he was awarded a Bronze Star. He worked as an electrical engineer for RCA, Motorola and Westinghouse. He also owned an industrial products distributor business in Alvadore. He enjoyed tennis, reading and traveling. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Merrily Grodsky of Claremont and Barbara Molt of Sparks, Nev.; a son, Michael of Venice, Calif.; a brother, James of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a sister, Sarah Fuchsman of Deerfield Beach; and one grandchild. Thursday's service will be held at 4 p.m. at the Alvadore Christian Church. Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City is in charge of arrangements.
