Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, April 16, 2005, at McFarlin Memorial Methodist Church in Norman with Reverend Cal Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery in Little, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma. Mrs. Higgins was born September 4, 1925, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Lemuel and Blanche (Dunaway) Pipkin. She married Ray Higgins on December 7, 1946, in Seminole, Oklahoma. She taught at Lincoln School in Norman for over twenty years. Mrs. Higgins was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and also served as their Chapter Advisor for many years. She was also a member of Norman Leadership Plus. She enjoyed a number of hobbies including gardening, needlepoint and traveling. Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Peggy Donzell, and five brothers and sisters. Survivors include her three daughters, Maree Sneed and husband, James H., of Potomac, MD, Claudia Higgins and husband, J. Gordon Stephens, of Arlington, VA, and Pat Matteson and husband, Ed, of Chicago Heights, IL; two nephews, Bill Pipkin, of Moore, OK and Barry Pipkin, of Joplin, MO; eight grandchildren, Christopher Donzell, Melissa and Drew Stephens, Eddie, Travis, Ruthanne Frances, Neal and Scott Matteson; and niece, Marsha Everett of Memphis, TN.
