All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Havenbrook FH--Norman OK Hodam, Carlisle Maywood Carlisle Maywood Hodam, 91, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2003 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Norman, Oklahoma, due to pneumonia and complications from a stroke. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 20, 2003, at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman with Reverend Phil Fenn officiating. Burial will be private.Mr. Hodam was born March 22, 1912 in Noble, Oklahoma to Samuel and Vincent Nolan Hodam. His entire life was lived in the Norman, Noble, and Oklahoma City area, having been a resident of Norman for the past 23 years. Mr. Hodam retired in 1974 from Champlin Oil and Refining where he was employed as a Terminal Manager. He was a member of McFarlin Methodist Church in Norman, the Oklahoma Masonic Lodge, and the Oklahoma Draft Horse Association. Mr. Hodam was a loving husband and father and served as a role model for his children and grandchildren teaching them by example as well as teaching them many lessons of life. He will be remembered for his love of horses, particularly his beloved Belgians and his love and skill at gardening. His kindness and friendship to many people will be his everlasting legacy. He was a man of high morals and strong character who touched and inspired others with his warm personality and zest for life. Mr. Hodam lived his final years with dignity and courage despite the debilitating effects of a stroke and became an inspiration to his family and friends. Mr. Hodam was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruby, who passed away last year. He is survived by two daughters, Diane Allen and husband, Jerry, of Amarillo, Texas and Carol Peery and husband, Jim of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Roger, Scott, Stacy, Steve, and David and eleven great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his cousin and life-long friend, Lloyd Hoover, of Norman. In lieu of flowers, donations my be sent to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1092, Norman, Oklahoma 73070.
