All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Adams Funeral Home--Ames IA Norman Transcript 23 Oct 2003 Kay Harrison Kay Harrison, 81, of Ames, Iowa, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ames with the Rev. Brian Eslinger officiating. A reception will follow the service. Adams Funeral Home in Ames is handling arrangements. Mrs. Harrison was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Checotah, to Virgil and Lala (Lucas) Harrison. She lived in Norman from 1956-1997 and in Ames since 1997. She was a registered nurse (certified occupational health nurse) and served as health services manager at the United States Postal Training Center in Norman and a fashion model in Oklahoma City. She retired in 1992. She married Ben Harrison in 1940. They later divorced. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ames, Inkspots writers group in Ames and a former member of First Baptist Church in Norman. She enjoyed playing bridge and tennis, traveling, attending Bible and women’s groups and knitting. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Burl Harrison. Mrs. Harrison is survived by her daughters, Benette Sherman of Ames and Linda Harrison of San Diego; son, Ron Harrison of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
