Kelly John Paul (J.P.) Kelly, 72, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, after a short illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mayes Chapel in Norman. Guardian Mayes Funeral Home in Norman is handling arrangements. Mr. Kelly was born Sept. 16, 1931, in Dyer, Ark., to Maude Hall and William Dover Kelly. He served in the Air Force and was a 32nd degree Mason at Remy Masonic Lodge No. 487 in Mulberry, Ark. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; sons, Thomas Paul of New Orleans and Willy and wife, Traci Roper, of Norman; daughters, Cindy Kelly and husband, Gerald Jones, of Dyer, and Denise Roper of Oklahoma City; brother, Harry G. Kelly of Plano, Texas; granddaughters, Sherry and husband, Chad Wyninger, of Fort Sill, and Taylor Roper; and great-granddaughter, Allya Danielle Wyniger.
