Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave. in Dallas, with the Rev. Michael Spradlin officiating. Services director is John Henderson. He can be reached at (972) 233-7111. Mr. Lovell, or Earl, as he was known by most, lived most of his life in the north Texas area. He lived the last seven months in Norman in order to be closer to his son and daughter-in-law. He was born July 28, 1919, in Boyd, Texas, the youngest of 13 children, nine who survived birth. When he was an infant, his family moved to Tom Bean, Texas, near Sherman, where Mr. Lovell was raised. He married Bobbie Irene Allen March 15, 1940. They lived in Fort Worth where they met while working at Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Company. In 1951, Mr. Lovell and his family moved to Long Beach, Calif., where they lived for approximately 11 years. He returned to north Texas where he lived until December 2002. He lived in Norman for two years in the mid- 1970s. Mr. Lovell was a senior staff member in charge of production control while at Williamson-Dickie and was a contract printer for a few years. Later he was a purchasing agent and then a sales representative for a large men’s apparel manufacturer while living in Los Angeles County in California. He continued in sales with the same Los Angeles firm but was a regional sales manager for the southwest United States for several years during the 1960s. While employed in that capacity, he owned and helped run a 1,200- tree peach orchard and large blackberry patch in Parker County, Texas, just west of Weatherford. Mr. Lovell and his wife moved to north Dallas in the mid-1970s, and he spent approximately 12 years managing condominiums and apartments, including the University Gardens next to the Southern Methodist University campus. He retired in 1988. He was a member of First Covenant Church in Irving, Texas. He was a third-degree Mason. Mr. Lovell took a great interest in athletics and was a particularly avid University of Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys fan. One of his favorite pastimes was playing card games and domino games with friends and relatives. Mr. Lovell was preceded in death by his nine siblings. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie of the home; children, Franca Jones and husband, David Jones, of Auburn, Calif., Warner Jr. and wife, Gwyn, of Norman and Cherry Chalupsky and husband, Jan Chalupsky, of Divide, Colo.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine nephews; and 13 nieces.
