Henry Stuhr FH--Mt Pleasant SC Norman Transcript 27 Jul 2003 David Sidney Leppert Sr David Sidney Leppert, Sr., 86, of Norman, died Friday, July 25. Mr. Leppert was born Nov. 11, 1916 on Sullivan’s Island, S.C., to Albert Valentine Leppert and Anna Johanna Witzel Leppert. He joined the Army in 1935 and transferred to the Air Force in 1947. He served in the military for 25 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During his years in the service, he traveled to Guam, Iwo Jima, Japan and Okinawa. He met and married Susan Louise White in 1939. She preceded him in death. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the South Carolina State Ports Authority and lived in the Charleston area until he retired and he and Louise moved to Norman to be near their son and his family. Survivors are a son, David S. Leppert, Jr., and wife Sheila of Norman; granddaughters Lynda Leppert of Boise, Idaho and Laura Murphy of Morehead City, N.C.; great-granddaughters Elisa and Kayla Murphy of Morehead City, N.C., and other nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, Mount Pleasant, S.C.. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
