Services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln., Friday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m., for Lecil Lightner, 71, who passed away April 28, 2003, in Bakersfield. Pastor Ronnie Lightner will officiate. Lecil was born June 29, 1931, in Norman, Oklahoma, and resided in Kern County for 25 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Lecil was an equipment and building maintenance person for 40 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dessie Lightner of Bakersfield; children and their spouses, Jeanette Lightner of Washington, Terry Lightner, Rhonda and Mark Mills and Ronnie and Beth Lightner all of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Richard and Adriana Wilks, Dennis Wilks, Kathrine Leyendecker, Tami and Noah Figueroa, Faith Mills, Monique Bejarano, Jeremy French, Joshua French, Benjamin French, Matthew French, Brett Lightner, Bridget Lightner and Sonia Serrano; great-grandchildren, Courtnie and Emily Leyendecker, Kristin Figueroa, Christian Figueroa, Michelle Bejarano, Jeremy French Jr. and Kaitland French; sister, Freda Gregory of Lompoc; and numerous nieces and nephews.
