All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.html ========================================================================== Liston, Millie Millie Liston, born Sept. 18, 1915, in Canadian, TX, died Aug. 26, 2005. The third child of four born to Frank L. and Lou Onor Helton, she grew up during the depression on a farm in the Texas panhandle. When 19, she married Leo who had 2 sons (Art and Harold) and helped raise them and her niece for almost 10 years while working as a hairdresser and homemaker. She worked at Pantex in Amarillo in 1943 pouring TNT for bombs. In 1945, she and Leo bought a farm near Moore. Millie never had any children but helped other people with theirs, cared for her father until his death, fed hay hands, and gardened. She played the mandolin, painted, taught Sunday School for 40 years, was on the Moore Library board, and wrote a local newspaper article. She worked at Sears for several years, was Moore Postmaster for 2= years, and worked for the Moore school district for 13 years as a school bus router. Millie was always doing good deeds for everyone. She baked pies, cakes, and cookies for neighbors, friends, and church; visited retirement homes; and washed and cut many aging person's hair. She also wrote often to many of her friends and did all she knew to follow her Savior and Master. Millie was a rare jewel. May the Lord bless her with life and peace always, which is available for all in the Kingdom. She is survived by three nieces and five grandchildren. Services will be Tues. at 2:00 at John Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, Moore.
