All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Norman Transcript, October 3, 1965: ROBERT ALLEN LESTER, 51, 1009 N Berry Road, died Friday in an Oklahoma City hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Trinity Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Poe Williams and the Rev. Dexter Blevins. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Primrose Funeral Home. Born April 2, 1914, in British Columbia, Lester moved to Norman in 1945. He was co-owner of the Norman Electric Service. Prior to that he had worked with Waters Electric for over ten years. Lester had been president of the Brotherhood at Trinity Baptist Church, on its Board of Trustees and had worked as a Sunday School teacher. At the time of his death he was a member of McFarlin Memorial Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home, two sons, James and Jack, both of Whittier, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs John Hill, Oklahoma City, and Charlene, Darlene and Roberta Lester, all of Wewoka, two step-daughters, Mrs. Bob Corbett, Oklahoma City, and kathy McGhee, of the home and two grandchildren. Active bearers will be Howell Gee, Otis Bigbie, Frank Pickel, Bob Quade, C. O. Abercrombie and Wyman Wright. Honorary bearers will be Fred Thompson, Jess Waters, Ralph Burdick, John McLeod, Dudley Hollomon, Floyd Masters, Earl W. Anderson, Col. William J. Myers, Al Feroli, Arnold Marshall, J. B.
