All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Norman Transcript 08/05/03 Robert Clayton Long, 75, of Norman died Sunday, Aug. 3, at his home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman with the Rev. Scott Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Mangum. Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman is handling arrangements. Mr. Long was born March 25, 1928, in Guthrie County, Iowa, to Florence and Ernie Long. He joined the military and served with the Merchant Marine in 1944. He served with the Navy in 1945. He was given early release because of the his father’s illness. He traveled and worked with his two younger brothers in the magazine industry after being discharged. He married Naomi Sue Sullivan Sept. 17, 1948. They lived in Norman and operated Paramount Products, a family album and photo processing business that took them throughout the Midwestern states. Mr. Long was most proud of his grandchildren, Clay, Jamie, Rachel, Alexa and Victor, his salesmanship ability and the graduation of his three sons from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Donald Long; and sister, Pauline Gouge. Mr. Long is survived by his sons, Robert S. Long of Noble, Michael R. Long and wife, Vicki, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Victor Dee Long and wife, Lisa, of Norman; sister, Mildred Golay and husband, Chuck, of Coon Rapids, Iowa; brothers, Jerry and Richard Long, both of Wagoner; and five grandchildren. Bearers will be Brad Golay, Bill and Clay Long, Mark and David Sullivan and Jason Giles.
