Lawrence PAMPA - Carl E. Lawrence, 91, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Richard Bartel, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Lawrence was born in Independence, Kan., and had been a Pampa resident since 1929. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army in New Guinea. Mr. Lawrence retired in 1976 as owner and operator of Caldwell's Drive Inn. He was a member of the Golden Key Kiwanis Club and was a Presbyterian. He married Aldine Hooten Price in 1973 at Norman, Okla. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Inez Fannin, in 1970 and by a stepson, Willie Hunt. Survivors include his wife; three stepsons, David Price and Larry Price, both of Pampa, and Gary Price of El Paso; a stepdaughter, Nelda Maginnis of Reno, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
