Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Mayes Funeral Directors. Mrs. Lamirand was born April 8, 1910 to Winston and Anna (Goodwin) Chinnis in Terral (Okla.). She came to Norman in a covered wagon when she was 8 years old, parking at a wagon yard at Main and Porter. She retired from Griffin Memorial Hospital after working for over 40 years as a secretary. Mrs. Lamirand was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. She loved lilacs, playing cards, the Sooners and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Uvalda Lamirand and one sister, Esta Mae Underwood. She is survived by two sons, Steve Lamirand and wife Patti of Pawhuska and Bill Lamirand of Cathedral City, California; one daughter Carolyn Carter and husband Jim of Tehachapi, California; five grandchildren, Keenan and Chinnis Lamirand, Kim Nixon, Kelly Schrage and Shawn Carter; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister,, Avus Fore of Seagoville, Texas, numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and friends.
