Mayes Lucille W. Mayes, 88, of Norman died Saturday, Sept. 13, at Lexington Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bradley Cemetery in Bradley. Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell is handling arrangements. Mrs. Mayes was born Nov. 24, 1914, in Lindsay, the only child of Wesel Franklin and Rhoda Telitha Hassler Dunne. She grew up near the Lindsay and Bradley areas. She enjoyed poetry and astrology and was an artist. Her family said her favorite quote was "The moving finger writes; and, having writ, moves on …" Mrs. Mayes was preceded in death by her parents, Wesel and Rhoda Dunne. Mrs. Mayes is survived by her daughters, Betty Jameson and husband, Jamie, of Sanger, Texas, Jean Blyth of Albuquerque, N.M., Polly Hall and husband, Stan, of Norman and Kathy Madden and husband, Henry, of Norman; sons, Jack Knapp and wife, Whitney, of Sanger, Texas, and Paul Knapp of Waxahachie, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethesda Alternative Inc., 1181 E.
