Cemetery--Norman OK Havenbrook Funeral Home Obituary Michael Lee McConnell Michael Lee McConnell, 46, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Lake Texoma, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Lavonn Brown and Reverend Mike Fleishmann officiating. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Shawn Chausse, Dean Waters, David Cole, Kerry Graham, Carl Knighten and Johnny Stine. Honorary bearers will be Monty Franklin, Jeff Wilson, Bob Felton, Todd Taylor, Tim "Chavez" Caldwell, Derek Mason, Robert Hamm, "Little" Jerry Smith, Kevin Pierce, Jimmy Stine, "Little" Kevin Anderson, Sterling Scott, Andy Darks and Kenny Adams. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma. Michael was born January 8, 1959 in Norman, Oklahoma, to Jerry D. and Carrol L. (Stine) McConnell. He graduated from Norman High School in 1977, attending both O.U. and O.S.U. He was an avid fan of Oklahoma athletics all of his life. Mike, carrying on in his family's business was a home builder, dealing in real estate in the Norman-Oklahoma City area. Mike was an avid outdoors man from his childhood, spending time on his family's farm. He was a decorated Eagle Scout in high school and later, a boating enthusiast. Mike loved music and life. He was a man who lived for others as much as himself, a man who held his family and his long list of friendships above anything else. He lived his life celebrating the freedom to be his own individual while never forgetting his love of others. Mike is survived by his son, Jeremy Lee McConnell; fiancé, Carrie Buckley and her son, Wyatt Buckley; parents, Carrol McConnell and Jerry D. McConnell; sister, Carrie LeVern and husband, Larry; brother, Mark Allen McConnell and wife, Susan, and their children, Lindsay Kay and Miles Turner; grandmother, Lucille Stine; and his four beloved dogs, Lobo, Cruiser, Dixie and Little Bear. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Albert Stine; and grandparents, J.D. and Vera McConnell.
