McCourry, Stanley Allison Stanley Allison McCourry went to be with our Lord, Thursday, April 8, 2004. He was born January 22, 1940 to Lena and Robert McCourry. He was a graduate of Norman High School and the University of Oklahoma, a member of the Norman High and Pride of Oklahoma bands. He married Martha Walton on January 26, 1963. Employed 20 years as Assistant Chief of Engineering of Oklahoma Teaching Hospitals, 10 years as Plant Engineer for Natural Water Co., Norman. Served the community as Cubmaster, District Pinewood Derby chairman, Scoutmaster, Explorer Postmaster. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, snow and water skiing, and making golf clubs. He was active at Berry Road Baptist Church. He served as chairman of the Deacons and Sunday School teacher. He is preceded in death by son, Stanley Jr., father Robert, and brother Robert Jr. Stan is survived by his mother, Lena, his wife Martha of 41 years, three children; Stanton and wife Nancy of Norman, John and wife Dawn of TX, Melanie Thacker and husband Jon of CA and seven grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 at Berry Road Baptist Church, 500 N. Berry Road, Norman, OK, viewing prior to service. Interment at Mustang Cemetery.
