All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Ethel Katherine McCarley 06/24/03 Ethel Katherine McCarley, 86, of Norman died Saturday, June 21, in Norman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Ehrlich officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Maguire Cemetery in Noble. Havenbrook Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. McCarley was born June 5, 1917, in Noble, to Martin Enoch and Ethel May Richardson Wallace. She grew up in the Little Axe, Bennett, Etowah and Corbett communities. She attended Macomb High School and graduated from Lexington High School. She married Robert Lee McCarley in 1935 and they moved to Norman from California in 1943. Robert was a retired Norman Assistant Fire Chief and worked for the City of Norman Water Department. Ethel retired from Griffin Memorial Hospital and was a beautician in California and Norman. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Norman. Mrs. McCarley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Ronald Lee McCarley; and sister, Billie McCraw of Norman. Mrs. McCarley is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Clements and husband, Walter, of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters, Ramona Steele of Norman, Winona Akin and husband, Gene, of Norman and Bobbie Mankey and husband, Harry, of Middlebury, Vt.; grandchildren, James Clements, Deborah Carroll and husband, Wayne, and Justin McCarley; and great-grandchildren, Julia McCarley and Meagan and Marissa Carroll.
