Felix was a member of the Pascua Yaqui tribe and committed to cultural obligations since childhood. Felix was a 1982 graduate of Cholla High School where he was an outstanding athlete in cross country and long distance track events. Following high school, he remained athletically involved in organized community sports. His occupation was in construction and as a concrete/form setter. Felix was the proud father of son, Andrew, and daughter, Felice. He enjoyed playing pool and was an avid and fiercely loyal Pittsburg Steelers fan. During the last year of his life, Felix was reunited with his high school sweetheart and long lost love, Sofia, after 24 years of separation. He relocated to Norman, OK, in February, 2006, to begin a new chapter of his life. He was newly married before his untimely death following a brief illness. Felix and Sofia were planning to move back to Tucson so he could continue to fulfill his lifetime cultural commitments. Funeral services were held at the Pascua Yaqui reservation on October 22, 2006, with early morning burial on October 23, 2006. Felix will forever be remembered by family and friends as a kind, compassionate man with deep religious, spiritual and cultural convictions and most of all…a gentle, clean heart.
