All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fresno Memorial Gardens--Fresno CA Miller, Muriel MURIEL MILLER Muriel Miller, age 83, of Fresno, went home to the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2006. Born on September 13, 1922, in Norman, Oklahoma, Muriel moved to Tranquillity with her family in 1939. Graduating from high school in 1941, she married Willard Miller on April 12, 1942. Shortly after, Willard went overseas for military service and Muriel went to riveting school and worked at North American Aviation as a "Rosie the Riveter" building P51 Mustangs for the war effort. After her husband returned from war duty, Muriel began her family of four boys, Wane, Gene, Jim and John, and a nephew Greg, whom she raised for nine years. In 1969, after her boys were grown, she attended Fresno City College and earned her associates degree in Nursing. She worked at Valley Children's Hospital for 16 years until her retirement in 1987. Preceded in death by Willard, her husband of 49 years, Muriel attended New Covenant Community Church in Fresno and was an active member at Valley Center for the Blind. In her final hours, she was in the care of Nancy Hinds Hospice. The family would like to thank the Nancy Hinds Hospice Staff for their kindness and loving care in our time of need. A Funeral Service will be held at John N. Lisle Chapel on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we request gifts be made to Nancy Hinds Hospice, 1416 W. Twain, Fresno, CA 93711 or Valley Center for the Blind, 4421 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno, CA 93721.
