Nichols Morales Services for Deborah L. Nichols Morales, 53, Sulphur, were held at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rodney Hobbs, Steve Mayhan and Father Taylor officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born August 15, 1951 in Sulphur to Paul and Lavernne Chilcoat Nichols, she died Saturday, Jan. 19 in Ardmore Veterans Center. She was raised in Sulphur and graduated from Sulphur High School. She then moved to Norman and enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany from 1974 to 1977. Following her service career, she was a special education teacher at Pauls Valley, then moved to Puerto Rico where she met and married her husband, Tomas Morales. The couple moved to Noble in 1983, then to Edmond in 1988. She moved to Sulphur in 1997, then back to Norman until 2001 when she came back to Sulphur and lived the remainder of her life. She is survived by a daughter, Lidia Morales, Norman; her mother, Lavernne Nichols; one sister, Laurie Nichols and her husband, James Wilson, Sulphur. Pallbearers were Rodney Hobbs, Russell Hobbs, Ryan Hobbs, Gary Mobly, Ron Chilcoat and Nelson Cordero.
