Obit for C.A. Pittman

C.A. Pittman

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with
Eddie Johnson, pastor of the church, and James Crawford, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors,
Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.

Mr. Pittman moved to Amarillo in 1956 from Wellington. He retired from
Meads Bakery in 1980. He married Iva Beck on March 25, 1939, in Gould,
Okla. He was a member and served as a deacon at Antioch Missionary Baptist
Church for 46 years and taught the Men's Sunday School Class for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Pittman, in 1969 in Amarillo.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Pittman and wife, Carolyn, of Amarillo;
two sisters, Mable Hickerson of Ashland, Kan., and Opal Britt of Alton, Ill.; a
brother, R.T. Pittman of Ashland; two grandchildren, Tammy Simon of
Amarillo and Greg Pittman of Norman, Okla.; four great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-grandchild.
