Services will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at the Norman IOOF Cemetery at her cemetery space west of the pond. Primrose Funeral Service in Norman is handling arrangements. Mrs. Rush was born Nov. 30, 1912, in Norman, to Stephen Thomas “S.T.” and Allie (Hamilton) Rose. She graduated from Norman High School. She earned a degree in education from the University of Oklahoma. She taught for a few years in elementary schools in Muldrow and Tuttle. She moved to Washington, D.C., in the early 1940s and began a 30-year career between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Air Force. At the end of World War II, she spent a year as a civilian working with the Air Force. She married John Rush. They retired to Prescott, Ariz., after Mrs. Rush retired from the federal government. They lived in Prescott for 20 years before Mr. Rush died. Mrs. Rush then moved to Norman. Mrs. Rush is survived by her nieces, Vickie Rose Oberg of Bakersfield, Calif., and Linda Rose Mayo of Dallas; cousins, Joe Hamilton of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Peggy Harris Lott of Westfield, N.J., and Ruth Hamilton Boyd of Noble; and special friends, Freda Muldrow of Oklahoma City and Hilda Buchanan of Norman.
