Symcox FARWELL - Vernon E. Symcox, 75, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Farwell with the Rev. Richard Laverty, pastor, the Rev. Howard Rhodes, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dimmitt, and Bob Byrd of Farwell officiating. Private burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Symcox was born in Norman, Okla., and moved to Farwell in 1927 from Hutchinson, Kan. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a farmer. He had been a director of the Parmer County Farm Bureau, Parmer County Farmers Home Administration and the Parmer County Tax Equalization Board. He attended First Baptist Church of Farwell. He married Julia Rundell in 1950 at Texico. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Roland Hillock of Midland, Steven Hillock of Kentwood, Mich., and James Symcox of San Antonio; four daughters, Judy Kay Murray, Gloria Hutchins and Susan Franse, all of Farwell, and Janice Snell of Muleshoe; 32 grandchildren; and 44 great- grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Cleveland County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/cleveland/cleveland.html
