Smith 1914 - 2005 Cleo P. Smith, 91, a retired nurse, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at her home in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ United Methodist Church, 3301 Sycamore School Road, Fort Worth. The Rev. Dr. Vaughn W. Baker will officiate. Cleo Smith was born April 10, 1914, in the farming community of Lexington, Okla. Her parents were Jefferson Davis and Zena Faye Peters. She attended Central State College in Edmond, Okla., and obtained her R.N. at St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, Ill., in 1936. She married Frank L. Smith, M.D., in 1941 and resided in the farming community of West Chicago, Ill., from 1945 to 1974. Dr. Smith died in 1967. She loved farming, gardening (especially roses), traveling (especially to visit her far-flung network of relatives) and sewing. She resided for 12 years in Albuquerque, N.M. She moved to Cleburne in 1986 and then in 1993 to Broadway Plaza/City View in Fort Worth, where she resided until her passing. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who will be sorely missed. She was predeceased by three sisters, Dora Jane Peters, Alleese Chenoweth and Genevieve Harvey; two brothers, Forrest Peters and James Wilkie; and one nephew, Kenneth Allen Peters. Survivors: Daughter, Barbara S. Bertram of Houghton, Mich.; granddaughters, Anne Bertram and husband, Martin Schub, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Lynne Bertram and partner, Catherine Sampietro of Dublin, Calif.; brothers, J.D. Peters Jr. and wife, Lee, of Cleburne and John E. Peters and wife, Jo, of Billings, Mont.; sisters, Grace Breeze of Fort Worth and Dorothy Booher and husband, Loren, of Sherman; nephew, Marvin D.
