Ireland Funeral Home--Moore OK Norman Transcript 16 Sep 2003 Joseph Alexander Surniak Joseph Alexander Surniak, 62, of Blanchard died Friday, Sept. 12, in Norman while working at his shop. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore. Mr. Surniak was born Oct. 18, 1940, in New Jersey, to Joe and Kay Surniak. He was in the U.S. Navy and served out of Jacksonville, Fla. He worked many years for Hobart Scale Company. He left in 1978 and became a big game guide in Elk City, Idaho. He left Idaho in 1982 and opened Unique Auto Service in Norman. He served customers through his last days even though his wife, Bonnie, was "management." Mr. Surniak is survived by his wife, Bonnie Surniak; son, Greg Surniak; brother, Jeff Surniak; step-daughters, Teresa McElyea, Twanna Medina and Debbie Williams; and many grandchildren. Mr. Surniak's ashes will spread over the mountains of Idaho, a place where his family said his heart never left.
