Tullius Herbert C. Tullius, 88, of Norman died Thursday, Oct. 2, in Norman. Vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Norman with the Rev. Edward Menasco officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Norman. Havenbrook Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mr. Tullius was born July 11, 1915, to Frank Joseph and Henrietta Dallmeier Tullius. He grew up in Norman and graduated from St. Joseph High School. He continued to live in the family home where he was born. He married Etoyle Homer Nov. 27, 1939. They moved to California for two years and then returned to the occupation he enjoyed, farming and raising cattle. Mr. Tullius' family said his garden was his pride and joy and he shared it with many friends. He enjoyed traveling but liked spending time with family the most. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He received the St. Joseph Worker of the Year award in 1984. He was a charter member of the Golden Agers. He retired from the board of directors of Farm Bureau Insurance after serving as treasurer for 36 years. Mr. Tullius was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael, Eugene, John and Carol; sisters, Margaret Kocher and Marie Dietz; and son, David. Mr. Tullius is survived by his wife, Etoyle of the home; children, Judy Fox and husband, Willard, of Washington, Diane McCreight and husband, Dr. William, of Oklahoma City, Jerry Tullius and wife, Sylvia, and John Tullius and wife, Gretta, all of Norman; grandchildren, Larry and Jeff Fox, Robin Britt, Sandy Wilson, Zane Fields and Joshua, Kaley, Ashley and Hannah Tullius; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandnieces; sisters-in-law, Ernestine Tullius and Lillian Thorpe; and nephews and cousins. Bearers will be Jim Ziweslin, Wayne Wheeler, Alan Tullius, Jerry Bruce, Olan Todd and Jim Driscoll. Honorary bearers will be Tom Mabry, Jerry and Wiley Madole, Robert Valouch, Gordon McCraw, Ken Ulrich, Leo Meiser, Ray Meyer and Leroy Tullius.
