All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.html ========================================================================== The Register Guard (Eugene OR) 23 Aug 2005 Floy Thompson FLORENCE - A memorial service will be held Aug. 27 for Floy Rowena Richardson Thompson of Florence, who died Aug. 18 of age-related causes. She was 85. She was born July 24, 1920, in Norman, Okla., to Frank and Rosa Davis Collier. She married Robert Richardson in September 1938 in Springfield. He died in October 1986. She married Robert Thompson on Dec. 29, 1994, in Green Valley, Ariz. He died in October 2001. A 1938 graduate of Springfield High School, she was a full-time mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, reading, chocolate and ice cream. She was a member of Thurston Christian Church and was president of the Thurston High School PTA in the 1950s through the 1970s. Her family members remember that she made "the best clam fritters on the Oregon Coast." Survivors include two sons, Richard Richardson of Springfield and William Richardson of Gilbert, Ariz.; a daughter, Linda Youel of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Saturday's service will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thurston Christian Church in Springfield. Burns Riverside Chapel/Florence Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
