The Oklahoman Sept 16, 1953 Winfield S. Turnpaugh, 88 year old retired farmer and carpenter of 1512 Rockwood, died Tuesday afternoon in St. Anthony hospital of a heart condition. He had been ill several months. Turnpaugh was born in Kentucky and came to Oklahoma in the eary 1900s to Lexington. He came to Oklahoma City about five years ago and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are two sons, W.N. Turnpaugh of the home, and Cecil E. Turnpaugh, Lexington; a daughter Mrs. Evelyn Cushman, Ada; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. ========= Turnpaugh, Winifield N. The Oklahoman Jul 19 1973 page 19: Winifield N. Turnpaugh, 69, of 2131 SW 25, died Wednesday at St. Anthony Hospital. Services will be at 2pm Friday at Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Turnpaugh was born in Lexington and moved to Oklahoma City in 1944. He was employed at Liberty National Bank and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Grace; a son Le Roy, 605 SW 67; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Newville, 2900 S.
