Vash, Ida Jean

Ida Jean Vash Mar. 24, 1914 - June 3, 2007 A memorial service will be 
held Thursday, June 7th, 10:00 a.m., in the Hillcrest Memorial Park 
Chapel. Ida Jean Vash was born March 24, 1914, in Lexington, 
Oklahoma, to Eathan Allen and Orpha Burris. She had four brothers, 
Charlie Smith, Chester Burris, Ethan Allen (Bill) Burris, and Buddy 
Burris who preceded her in death. She went to live with the Lord on 
June 3, 2007. Ida spent her early years in Lexington and Oklahoma 
City, Oklahoma. She met and married Bernie H. Haynes in 1933 and bore 
him two children, Zack T. Haynes of Melbourne, FL, and David J. 
Haynes of Bakersfield, CA. Several years after her husband, Bernie's 
death she married Andrew Vash and lived happily in Bakersfield until 
Andy's death in 1994. Ida had a colorful career working as a 
physiatric technician in the mental ward at Kern General Hospital 
(now Kern Medical Center). She retired in 1972 and she and her 
husband, Andy, traveled extensively throughout the United States. Ida 
is survived by her two sons, Zack and David and daughter-in-law, 
Loretta Haynes; 8 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; and 1 great-
great- grandchild. She will be greatly missed.
