The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Vondel Smith Mortuary in Oklahoma City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church in Norman. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuaries is handling arrangements. Mr. Weeks was born June 16, 1926, in Ponca City, to Clarence Albert and Mary S. (Porter) Weeks. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Army on his 18th birthday. He was trained as a tank driver and assigned to the 9th Armored Division at Fort Knox, Ky. He arrived in Europe in April 1945 and served in France and Germany at the end of the war. He was awarded the Bronze Star for gallantry in action. He was a finance clerk in Reims, France, at the end of the war. He graduated with a business administration degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1950. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1954 until he retired in 1984. He received the Albert Gallatin Award for meritous service. He married Wanda June Hodge Feb. 5, 1948, and they raised five children. He was known for his involvement with his children, coaching baseball and football and taking them and their friends to their activities. He regularly attended Bethel Baptist Church sitting in his wheelchair in the back of sanctuary the last several years. Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Leora Kutz; and son-in-law, Jeff Fuson. Mr. Weeks is survived by his brothers, Curtis Weeks and wife, Sandi, of Stockton, Calif., and Frank Roach and wife, Shirley, of Revo, N.V.; sister, Ann Hayes of Gridley, Calif.; children, Clarence III and wife, Sonja, of Moore, Steve of Norman, Martin of Norman, Brenda of Norman and Michael and wife, Christine, of Norman; granddaughters, Jennifer Wagnon and husband, Greg, of North Carolina, Jessica Smith and husband, Jeff, of Kansas, Jolena Weeks of Moore, Judith Milam and husband, Dave, of Texas, and Melinda Fuson of Norman; grandson, William Fuson of Norman; great- grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth and Aaron Wagnon Abigail Smith and Wanda Milam; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Cleveland County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/cleveland/cleveland.html
