All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Norman Transcript October 13, 2003 Martha "Jane" West Martha "Jane" West, 101, of Norman, died Friday, Oct. 10. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Primrose Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Denver Cemetery under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service. Mrs. West was born Oct. 1, 1902, to George William and Mary Belle (Murray) Capehart at Ashville, Ala. She moved to Oklahoma at the age of 8. On April 15, 1917, she married Houston West in Norman. She was a homemaker and worked with Houston on their farm. Mrs. West enjoyed quilting and gardening and was a longtime member of Alameda Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years; sons, George "Pete" West and Kenneth West; daughters, Charlene Brattin, Jo Adkins and Eulene West; brothers, George and W.T. Capehart and her sisters, Irene Ledford, Minnie Lawson, and Ollie West. She is survived by her son, Howard West of Norman; her daughter, Patsy Dennis of Springdale, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in Jane's name to the Alameda Church of Christ, 801 E.
