Wade Dorothy D. Wade, 85, of Norman, Okla., died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Norman Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the Riverside Cemetery in Mangum. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Dorothy was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Willow to Joseph R. and Myrtle Burcham Dudek. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Mangum Junior College. Dorothy married George H. "Whitey" Wade on Jan. 28, 1940, in Mangum. They moved to Norman in 1957. She raised and loved three daughters, loved and cared for grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always supportive of all they did. Besides being a homemaker, she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Norman, including many years at McCall's Men's Store and also supported and assisted her husband in his job for Bond Bread. Dorothy loved working in her yard and planting flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, solving crossword puzzles, watching golf on television, dancing and collecting Fiesta dishes. She was a member of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church and attended the Fellowship Sunday school class. Dorothy faced many health problems in the last few years with courage. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter, Jill Pembleton; sister, Joy Chapman; and infant granddaughter, Shannon Bentley. Survivors include two daughters, Jan Argo and husband, Bud, of Norman, and Jenna McIntosh and husband, Mike, of Norman; sister, Ruth Melton and husband, Wayne, of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Joe Bradley, Lori Gordoni, Daniel Pogue, Dennis Pogue, Stephenie Freeman, Mike McIntosh Jr., Jenny Flax and Greg Argo; and 23 great-grandchildren.
