Woods, 46, of Norman drowned Friday, Sept. 26, while vacationing at South Padre Island, Texas. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman with the Rev. Russ Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman. Havenbrook Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mr. Woods was born Oct. 18, 1956, in Norman to Edgar and Carrie Woods. He attended Norman High School and South Oklahoma City Junior College. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Woods enjoyed playing baseball, softball and golf and coached his sons’ baseball teams. He attended New Life Bible Church of Norman. Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his father, Edgar, and great nephew, Joshua Craig. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Woods of the home; sons, Chad, Ryan and Derek Woods and their mother Donna, all of Norman; a step-son, Justin Moss of Norman, mother, Carrie Wofford of Norman; sisters, Connie Finch of Cole and Stella Witt of Texas; brothers, Sonny Woods of Norman and Charles and Johnny Woods of Noble; and in-laws, George, Doris, Steve and Robbie Dannehl, all of Norman. Bearers will be Sonny Woods, Johnny Woods, Charles Woods, Kenny Putman, Curtis Gray and Cid Davis.
