Watkins August 2, 1921 Doris Lorene Jarboe Watkins was born on a farm east of Lexington, Oklahoma on August 2, 1921, to Carl and Isal Sherman Jarboe. She accepted the Lord as her savior when she was a teenager. She graduated from Lexington High school in 1940. Doris married Edwin L. Watkins on November 15, 1941. They were blessed with two children, Sharon Ann and Edwin Lynn. Doris worked at Super C. Grocery Store for years and was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She was a member of Fidelis Sunday School Class. Doris has been a resident of the Lindsay Nursing Home for the past seven months. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin L. Watkins, her parents Carl and Isal Sherman Jarboe, twin great grandsons, David Lee Owens and Landon Ross Owens, one brother, Robert Jarboe, two sisters, Euna Kluge and Francis Childers. Doris is survived by her children Sharon and husband Cliff of Paoli, Lynn and wife Jeanine, of Lindsay, seven grandchildren, Julie, Bryan, Justin, Jerod, Nicki, Matt and Kalyn, Adam Owens, and Alexis Owens, one sister, Mildred Hall and husband, Richard, of Norman, three brothers, Raymond Jarboe and wife Freda of Salina, Oklahoma, Wayne Jarboe and wife Ruth of Kingston, Oklahoma, Carl Jay Jarboe and wife Jan, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, his sister-in-laws, Patsy Watkins, of Lexington ,Neva Jarboe, of Norman, Oklahoma, Jeanie Watkins of Purcell, Jequetta and husband, Floyd Seals, of Oklahoma City, Sue Byrd, of Arizona, brother-in-laws, Douglas Watkins and wife Margaret, of Lexington, Glen Watkins and wife Imogene, of Anchorage, Alaska, Doral Kluge, of Del City, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Doris will be Friday, December 23, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Lindsay, Oklahoma. Interment will be at the Erin Springs Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home.
