All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::St Joseph Cemetery--Norman OK Margaret Rosa (Sala) Winstead Margaret Rosa (Sala) Winstead, 64, of Norman, Oklahoma died with cancer, Wednesday, June 1, 2005, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. An Evening Prayer service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Friday, June 3, 2005, at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 4, 2005, at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church with Reverend Thomas Boyer, celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, Oklahoma. Mrs. Winstead was born December 15, 1940, to Kenneth E. and Zobeda Petra (Leon) Sala in Wichita Falls, Texas. She grew up in Capitol Hill and graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School in Oklahoma City. She married Robert J. Winstead in January of 1963, at the St. James Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. She attended Central State University and in 1963, she received a B.S. degree in elementary education. She then received a masters degree in teaching, in 1968, from Central State University. She received her administration, education reading, and special education certifications from the University of Oklahoma. During her life, she was an educator, teaching in the Western Heights School District from1965 until 1981, Oklahoma City Community College from 1982 until present, the University of Oklahoma as an Adjunct Professor, from 1988 until 2003, and in the Moore Public Schools, from1981 until present. Aside from teaching, Mrs. Winstead was a member of the Oklahoma Reading Association from1988 until present and the International Reading Association and was the State Coordinator from the year 2000 until present. Mrs. Winstead was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, of the home; mother, Zobeda Sala, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sons, Chris Winstead and wife, LaRinda, of Woodland Park, Colorado, Kevin Winstead and wife, Kathy, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Kyle Winstead, of the home; daughter, Canela Winstead, of Boston, Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Lindy, Ashley and Hunter Winstead and two great- grandchildren, Kalie Ann Winstead and Katelynn Winstead.
