Charley attended Coalgate Public Schools and graduated in 1950. He was a funeral assistant and worked for Slater's, Cooper's, Farley's, Epperson's and Brown's Funeral Service in Atoka. On June 9, 1952 he married Leah May Rushing at Ray, North Dakota and later married Alvera Spicer Reifsnider on Feb 10, 1983 in Taloga, OK. Survivors include his wife Alvera S. Baumert of the home, his mother, Olga Baumert of Coalgate
