Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo with Dr. Chester Beavers officiating. Arrangements are by Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Mrs. Gibson was born Jan. 6, 1907, in Colgate, Okla., to Thomas Freeman Maxey and Lulu Evelyn East Maxey. She was orphaned at age 2 and was raised by her adored grandmother, Sara Maxey in Durant, Okla. She married William Willard Gibson on Dec. 1, 1925. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo, moving to Houston in 1972 to be closer to her sister. She then moved to Dallas in 1989 and at the time of her death was a resident of Walnut Place Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 3, 1970; a sister, Blanche Cline; and a niece, Sara Cline Fincher. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Sue Morris of Antigua, Guatemala, and Puerta Vallerta, Mexico; a son, Michael Gibson and wife, Nancy, of Dallas; three nephews, John Victor Cline and Harold Fincher, both of Houston, and Gerald Gibson of Halleyville, Okla.; and two great-nieces, Kay Fincher of Costa Rica and Burton and Carol Rodabuagh of Houston.
