The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ Henry Jenkins drowns in lake near Coalgate Sunday afternoon, while in swimming with a bunch of friends in what is known as Gill’s lake north of this city, Henry Jenkins was drowned when he took the cramps. One of his friends attempted to rescue him but was unable to do so and before others could come to his assistance Jenkins was drowned. Jenkins was single and 22 years old. Funeral services were conducted at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jenkins, Monday afternoon by Rev. C. A. Magness and the remains laid to rest in the McCarty cemetery.
