All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 4 Jul 2005 Norma Jean Akers Memorial service for Norma Jean Akers, 53, Lawton, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jim McGuire of Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma officiating. Mrs. Akers died Sunday, July 3, 2005, in Lawton. She was born Sept. 24, 1951, in Beckley, W.Va., to William and Loretta Pommeroy Haga. She married Cary L. Akers on March 18, 1967, in Virginia. She spent the majority of her married life in Europe, before returning to Lawton in 1985. She was the office manager for 18 years at AAA Bail Bonds. Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons: Cary Akers IV and his wife, Elizabeth, Fort Bragg, N.C.; and William Charles Akers and his wife Amy, Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Melissa Vega and her husband Todd, San Antonio, Texas; a brother, William Haga, California; and a sister, Margaret Haga, Nebraska; four grandchildren: Cary L. Akers V, William L. Akers, Charles Vega and Stephany Akers; a special friend; Ronnie Gaskins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
