All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 4 June 2004 ROBERT FRED ADKINS Robert Fred Adkins, 88, longtime Anadarko resident, passed away May 30, 2004, at the Christian Care Retirement Center in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Robert was born December 21, 1915, to John and Myrtle (Williams) Adkins in Sterling, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Wilma Lee Fowler on March 24, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Robert served his country in the Army/Air Corps. He was retired from civil service, where he worked at Tinker Field. Survivors include his wife, Wilma, of the home; two sons, Robert F. Adkins, Jr., of Houston, TX, and John R. Adkins and wife, Vikki, of Aiken, SC; one daughter, Jana R. Gaddis and husband, Michael, of Jones, OK; six grandchildren, Ryan Adkins, Aaron Adkins, Nicole Adkins, Emelia Adkins, Katy Gaddis, and Patrick Gaddis; two nieces, Tamara Lee, of Tucson, Arizona, and Terri Hollister, of Phoenix, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Fawn Johnson. Memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2004, at First Christian Church, Anadarko, Oklahoma, officiated by Truman Ferguson.
