Mrs. Adams died Friday, March 14, 2003, at her home. ========= Lawton Constitution 17 Mar 2003 Dorothy Virginia Adams Graveside service for Dorothy Virginia Adams, 81, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Chris Stephens, pastor, Dayspring Community Church, officiating. Mrs. Adams died Friday, March 14, 2003, at her home. Arrangements are by Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. She was born June 22, 1921, in Long Beach, Calif., to Herbert and Johanna Robracht Mitchell. She married Jess Albert Adams in California in 1954. He died in 1957. She lived most of her life in Gilroy, Calif., and moved to Lawton in 1985. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 193 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1193. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-Law, Berta and Tom Henderson, Lawton; a son, Kenny Adams, Albany, Ore.; a granddaughter, Jeri Girard and her husband Mike, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five great-grandchildren: Brandy, Kendra and Jason Adams, all of Albany; and Alexa Girard and Zachary Mace, both of Colorado Springs; three brothers: Albert Mitchell and his wife, Florence, Riverside, Calif.; Robert Shannon and his wife, Diane, Saratoga, Calif.; and Ernest Swinn and his wife, Pat, Yachats, Ore.; a sister, Helen Sadek, Rodgers, N.D.; an aunt, Theresa Burch, Pomona, Calif; and two special friends, Brigitte Landis and Calvin Davis, both of Lawton.
