A.L. Swagerty, Fletcher, officiating. Mrs. Alderson died Friday, March 28, 2003, at a Lawton care facility. Burial will be at Fletcher Cemetery under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. She was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Izard County, Ark. She was raised in Arkansas, and came to Elgin in 1933. She married Nick Alfred Alderson on April 1, 1933, in Viola, Ark. He died Jan. 29, 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 255 of Elgin. She was a resident of Willow Park Nursing Home since 1986. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Donna and Arvile Adkins, Duncan; and Kowanda and D.W. Stroud, Chandler; a brother and sister-in-law, B.J. and Nell Sherrill, Fletcher; two sisters-in-law: Nova Sherrill, Fletcher; and Barbara Sherrill, Ponca City; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Nick Alderson Jr.; a sister, Ivaughn Baker; and three brothers: A.D. Sherrill, DeWitt Sherrill and James D.
